Harold Wayne King

Harold Wayne King, 87, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 1995, formerly of Dallas, TX, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in Cape Coral. He was born September 1, 1935 in Sherman, TX to William and Arva King, now deceased.

Harold was a Veteran of the United Sates Army. He was of the Presbyterian faith, and a member of Burnt Store Presbyterian Church in Punta Gorda, FL. Harold was a manager with IBM service for 31 years and his goal was to be retired for as long as he worked. He reached that goal spending the last 32 years fishing, golfing, and traveling. He was a football fan - especially the Dallas Cowboys, and NASCAR racing. He cherished salmon fishing in Colorado and saltwater fishing in Florida with new friends. He supplied fresh fish for many fish fries.

Golf outings with friends were usually followed by breakfast or Happy Hour. When he had free time, he stayed busy volunteering at Habitat for Humanity during the summer in Franklin, NC and church ministries including the Homeless Coalition, Salvation Army, and Meals on Wheels in Florida.

He will be remembered for his upbeat personality and his willingness to help others - always smiling and always happy!

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Sharon King of Cape Coral; two loving children, Gary King of Denison, TX, and Sherrie Miga (Walt) of Plano, TX; as well as a great grandchild, Jameson Moran.

Harold was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lauren King; as well as a daughter in law, Lisa King.
