Helen E. Bailey, 52, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Chicago, IL, peacefully left this earth with her husband by her side, at home, on Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Cape Coral. She was born March 23, 1962 in Biloxi, MS.
Helen began her career as a Dental Tech in the United States Navy. She met her husband Bill during that time. They chose to make Chicago their home, until their recent retirement. As a devoted mother, Helen was an active Girl Scout Leader, an involved parent at Queen of Martyrs and participated in many other activities involving her daughters. While the girls were in elementary school, Helen attended Prairie State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Dental Hygiene. As a RDH (Registered Dental Hygienist), Helen was able to plan her schedule around her children. Micki and Lorena always came first. Helen and Bill enjoyed their involvement in the motorcycle community, and were active in Abate of Illinois and HOG. She was a proud member of the American Legion Post 0991 (Worth, IL). Helen never knew a stranger. She is missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, William "Bill" Bailey; her mother Lois Snowden (George) of Gainesville, FL; her two children, Christine "Micki" Bailey and Lorena "Lori" Bailey; her sisters, Lorena Dugan (David) of Melbourne, FL; Alberta L'Huillier of Thomaston, GA; her brother, Robert Alexander Mitchell, III (Theresa) of Rockledge, FL. In addition, Jack (Kathy) Bailey, Donna Bailey, Kevin (Sue) Bailey, Carol (Wally) Goodyear, Dave (Mary Jo) Bailey and Tim (Kathy) Bailey. Helen was blessed with the love of many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and long-time friends.
Helen is preceded in death by her grandmother, Alberta Mitchell, father Robert A. Mitchell, Jr., her brother-in-law, William "Bill" L'Huillier, father-in-law, John F. Bailey and mother-in-law, Louise Bailey.
