Helen Buntin Elliott, 75, a resident of Hendersonville, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023, while visiting family in Pine Island, FL. She was born on December 16, 1947, in Jackson, TN. Daughter to William H. and June Buntin.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 55 years, Larry Elliott, and their yappy dogs, Bee Bee and Baxter of Hendersonville, NC, and two adoring children, Joy Elliott and Doug Elliott (Amy), both of Lincoln, NE; loving brother, Joel A. Buntin (Christina) of Bokeelia, FL; brother-in-law, Rik Elliott (Steve Slack), Vallejo, CA; sister-in-law, Diane Agnello, St Paul, MN; and brother-in-law, Kevin Elliott (Liz), Havertown, PA; as well as two adored grandchildren, Gabrielle and Isabelle Elliott; granddogs Frank, Ruth, and Vivian; nephews, Joel T. Buntin, John and Ross Agnello, Adam and Erik Elliott, and a host of cousins, neighbors, and friends.
Helen loved Jesus and truly understood when He said, “Love one another”. She was the most loving, caring, compassionate, and giving woman; you only had to meet her to experience this for yourself. Helen was always involved in the churches she attended over the years, including the University Christian Church of South Miami, FL; Chatham Christian Church, Chatham, IL; Capitol City Christian Church, Lincoln, NE; Biltmore Church, Hendersonville and Brevard, NC campuses; and the Sew Blessed Quilt Ministry, Hendersonville, NC.
Helen loved to sew, quilt, spend time in the garden, and arrange flowers. She adored her entire family, especially her children, grandchildren, and granddogs. Helen cared for her children’s friends like her own and their children like her grandchildren, particularly Heather Hollett Pleune (Todd) and their girls Caroline and Annie. Helen also loved animals, sunrises, and sunsets at the beach, and in the Blue Ridge mountains, hot tea, medium-rare burgers, HGTV, and chocolate. She disliked bullying, rudeness, coffee, root beer, overcooked steaks, and the way Larry, Joy, and Doug behave while watching Husker football.
Helen will be desperately missed by all those she’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one-of-a-kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia Sue Buntin; parents, William H. and June Buntin; nephew, William Eric Buntin; father-in-law, Richard H. Elliott; mother-in-law, Virginia Y. Mount; brother-in-law, John L. Agnello; and many family pets.
