Howard D Root

Howard Denis Root, 67, of North Ft. Myers, FL., passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016. He was born in Lansing, MI on February 3, 1949 to the late Howard and Margaret (nee Buck) Root. Denis was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His favorite hobbies included traveling, boating and fishing. Denis drove semi-trucks and was a heavy machine operator. He was always proud of his family and loved spending time cooking out on the weekends while having a beer and telling good jokes. Survivors include his wife Kathleen "Kathy" Root of North Ft. Myers, FL; six children, Nikki King of North Ft. Myers, FL, Jessica Root of Marydel, DE, Tina Wood of North Ft. Myers, FL, Tonia Root of Tampa, FL, Vicki Root of Bellvue, MI and Justin Root of Battlecreek, MI; three sisters, Chris Dennings, Linda Schattuck and Janet Gray; four brothers, Kelly Root, Rod Root, James Root and Byron Root; as well as 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
