Ilia Betsaida Vega Rivera

Ilia Betsaida Vega Rivera, 72, a resident of Cape Coral for the past three years, formerly of Puerto Rico, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 in Cape Coral.  She was born November 7, 1948 in Puerto Rico to Rafael Vega Vega and Blanca Maria Rivera Morales, now deceased. 

Ilia (also known as Doña Ilia) was an extraordinary Wife, Government Worker, Sister, and Mother. Ilia devoted her life to her family with no reservations. She will always be remembered for her awesome cooking, work ethic, amiability, respectful, quiet & humble personality. Known for her very reserved personality, she was always happy at home cooking or reading. ‘Bellota’ as her loving sons call her, was a great example for any person.  She fought a strong battle against cancer until the very end. Ilia’s legacy will continue on within the hearts of her loved ones.

She is survived by her two loving children, Luis Manuel Figueroa Vega (Priscilla) of Washington, DC and Martin Figueroa Vega (Lina) of Cape Coral; three siblings, Rafael Vega, Victor Vega and Carmen Vega; as well as four grandchildren, Mayra Figueroa, Alejandro Figueroa, Alejandra Figueroa and Isabella Figueroa.

Ilia was preceded in death not only by her parents, but her beloved husband, Luis Manuel Figueroa Colon in 2019. 

Memorial Services will be held 9:45AM Friday, April 23, 2021 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd, Ft. Myers, FL  339016 with Pastor Jeff Swearingen officiating.
