Indira Jehan Theus

Indira Jehan Theus, 40, a resident of Lehigh Acres, FL for the past seven years, formerly of Belize, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in Tampa. She was born July 19, 1983 in Belize.

Indira was of the Catholic faith. She was a mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and cousin. Indira attended school and received an associate degree in Belize. She found her passion and love for cooking through learning from her mother whom she admired. She became a caterer and with that she accomplished the role of teaching a cooking class at Mount Carmel High school in Belize. Her students and peers were amazed at how delicious she cooked and loved the food.

She embarked on a new journey leaving behind her beloved Belize and moved to Florida making this her new home. Although she left Belize; her Caribbean flavor was still vibrant in her cooking, and she never forgot her roots. Everyone she met here flocked to her cooking and she created a new group of friends and family to sit at her table. Indira was a hard-working woman and she Loved her job as a manager at Key Foods Deli. Everything Indira did she did with passion, she lived life without regrets.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 23 years, Curtis Theus of Lehigh Acres; loving parents, Alfredo and Augustina Chavarria of Belize; three loving children, Curtis Theus, Jr., Ciara Theus, and Kelsey Theus, all of Lehigh Acres; two brothers, Alfreda Chavarria, Jr. and Ulises Chavarria, both of Belize; niece, Kendra Chavarria of Lehigh Acres; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as Wero, the dog.

Indira was preceded in death by a brother, Everet Chavarria.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33916 with Father Jose del Olmo officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
