Ion Dumitru

Ion Dumitru, 58, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past four years, formerly of Queens, NY, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 in Cape Coral. He was born April 6, 1964 in Romania.

Ion (John, Palarie, Moto, Motoreta) was a loving husband and father who liked fishing, motorcycling and the Florida lifestyle. He left us too early, too fast. We are mourning, but let’s celebrate the life he had, full of it.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Viorica “Vicky” Dumitru of Cape Coral; three loving children, George Dumitru (Madalina) of River Edge, NJ, Claudia Dumitru of Naples, FL, and Bogdan Dumitru (Melissa) of Westbury, NY; brother, Aurica Dumitru (Ioana) of Romania; niece and nephew, Mihaela and Andrei; as well as four grandchildren, Edward, Nicholas, Bianca, and Mia.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916 with Father Bogdan Nichitean officiating. Committal Services to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, FL 33991. The family will receive friends for a Time of Visitation from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916.
