On Saturday April 2nd, after seventy-seven years of travel, caring for veterans, love of animals, and later in life enjoying FL in the winter, Jim died peacefully at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL while with loved ones.
On September 9th, 1938 in Sharon, CT, Charles and Nellie (Palmer) Caple welcomed their second child, James William Caple, into the world. They would have a total of four children: Dawn, Jim, Ginny and Leroy. At the age of 18, Jim joined the US Navy. He would end his time with the Navy while stationed in Naples, Italy but continue his lifelong work for the US Government at the VA Medical System in Massachusetts until his retirement.
Jim is survived by his daughter Gigi and her husband Geoff and their two children Anya and Cailyn; his son Mike and his wife Kim and their two children Hannah and Lily; and the mother of his children, Ginny Caple.
While we are grateful to many, our special thanks go to Jim's long-time companion and partner Marybeth Mann as well as her children and their families for their constant and deep love over the last decade of his life.
A special thank you to all the wonderful caregivers at Hope Hospice in the final days.
As Jim entered the gates of Heaven, his parents, his stepfather, his son Dan and daughter Sarah, his three siblings and numerous relatives and friends greeted him. There was a celebration as he arrived!
Visiting hours will be Wednesday April 13th from 5 to 7pm at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason funeral home in Bridgewater, MA with a burial service at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Bridgewater, MA on Thursday April 14th at 10am. There will be a reception immediately following the burial service.
In lieu of flowers, Jim would have preferred donations to the care of animals which he so loved, to Central New Hampshire VNA and Hospice in Laconia NH where the mother of his children volunteers or to Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL where he spent his final days.
Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
