James Arthur Schweizer, Jr.

James Arthur Schweizer, Jr., 70, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past thirteen years, formerly of Wanatah, IN, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 in Cape Coral. He was born September 16, 1952 in LaPorte, IN to James and Vivian Schweizer, now deceased.  He was also preceded in death by his sister Shirley Schweizer.

James was a lifetime member of Local 150 where he was a heavy equipment operator.  James loved being a crane operator.  After retirement James and his wife moved to Florida where he enjoyed playing 55+ softball.  He loved his grandchildren and was at their sporting events, in the garage helping them fix their vehicles or just teaching them everyday things on how to be “handy” around the home.  He could often be found enjoying an afternoon beer outside by the pool. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Becky Schweizer of Cape Coral; three loving children, Reed Schweizer (Roseann) of Cape Coral, Sarah Schweizer (Stephen McBroom) of Pearland, TX, and Angela Sibbrell (Joshua) of Cape Coral; brother, Dale Schweizer (Cindy) of Union Mills, IN;  thirteen grandchildren, Mason, Ava, Grady, Morgan, Jenna, Davis, Isaac, Olyvia, Colin, Hunter, Isabella, Chloe, and Gabe; as well as three great grandchildren, Hadley, Addison, and Hudson.

There are no formal services planned at this time.
