James Nicholas Winkley

With sadness in our hearts, but joy in our souls, we say see you later to husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa – Jim Winkley. Born on September 16, 1932. Graduated to heaven December 8, 2023.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Audrey Winkley; six children, Loraine, Carolyn, Ellen, Sharon, Janet, Dennis, and their spouses; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, George; sisters, Helen, Betty, Clara and Barb; as well as many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Dad was born on his grandparents’ homestead in southeast Montana. He was raised on his parents neighboring homestead along with 10 siblings. Over the years, he worked as a rancher, farmer, logger, and county worker. In his retired years he worked various other interesting jobs.

He never met a stranger.
