Janet Ruth Lariviere

Janet Ruth Lariviere, 71, a resident of Fort Myers, FL, since 1995, formerly of Key West, FL, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023 in Fort Myers. She was born March 27, 1952 in Dania Beach, FL to Harry and Jeanne Brockman, now deceased.

Jan grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and graduated from Stranahan High School. She previously owned her own drywall company in Alabama. Key West held a very special place in Jan’s heart, and it is where she and her son, Gene, spent many happy years together before moving to Ft. Myers. Jan retired from the Lee County Humane Society in Ft. Myers in 2000. Jan’s son, Gene, was the joy of her life. She dearly loved her sweet, old dog, Brody, the last of a long line of pups that Jan adopted throughout the years.

She is survived by her son, Eugene Bradford; sisters, Judy Greear (David) of West Palm Beach, FL, Joanne Brockman Foster (David) of Lexington, SC, Art Brockman (Liza) of Pembroke Pines, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. Close friends Margaret, Joanna, Carolyn, Lola, and Willie Mae were very special to Jan.
