Jay Alden Woodall, Retired Postmaster for the U.S. Senate. Jay will always be known as a fun loving storyteller with a spirit for life and laughter. Jay was focused and dedicated to the things loved including his parents, siblings, wife, children, grandchildren, dogs, United States of America, The Democratic Party, The Washington Redskins, history and of course Golf!
Jay was born in Washington, D.C. and is preceded by his parents, Raymon and Dorothy Woodall and brother, Raymon Woodall. He grew up in West Virginia and was very animated in the way told people about how much he loved WEST VIRGINIA.
Jay served in the U.S. Navy and got his bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University.
Jay passed away in his home and leaves behind his wife, Sharon K. Woodall of Cape Coral, Florida; sister, Marilyn Woodall Jones of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Christina W Ronaldson (Christy) & son, Jay Andrew Woodall (Drew) and son-in-law, Ivan Ronaldson and grandchildren, Lillianna Skye Ronaldson & Bruce Maverick Ronaldson all of Falls Church, Virginia.
Jay was very proud of the time he served his country in the U.S. Senate as the Postmaster and was honored to know and be friends with West Virginia Senator Robert T. Byrd who helped him in moving to DC.
Jay in retirement served by volunteering for 10 years as President of the Coral Oaks Men’s Golf Association and was chairman of the Golf Advisory Board for Cape Coral City Council.
