John Henry Allen, Sr.

John Henry Allen, Sr., 82, of North Fort Myers, Florida, son of P. H. Allen and Ethel Mae Allen, passed away on November 28, 2024 after a long illness. He was born in Sebring, Florida on November 4, 1942. 

John was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time with his family and friends. John served eleven years in the United States Army. He was the last charter member of Amvets Post #50. He was a heavy equipment operator for Lee-Mar for over 30 years. 

He is survived by his six children: Mona Leasa Shoemaker of Greenwood, Florida, Joann Eileen Allen of Conway, South Carolina, Tina Marie Allen of Enterprise, Alabama, John Henry Allen, Jr. of North Fort Myers, Florida, John Henry Allen, III (Angela) of Gainesville, Georgia, and Crystal Lyne Allen of North Fort Myers, Florida; sister Paula Cunningham of Michigan; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Mary Louise Allen in 2018, both of his parents, brother Bobby Silas Allen, and sisters Dorothy Marie Brown, Katherine Black, Theda Mae Ward, and Joann Allen (infant).
