John Robert Holly, 63, a Cape Coral, FL resident since 1991, formerly of Ft. Wayne, IN passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born August 25, 1953 in Ft. Wayne, IN. John was a graduate of Indiana University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He was a member at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Cape Coral, FL. John was an avid train enthusiast as his grandfather, John Holly, was a conductor on the Nickel Plate Railroad. He will always be remembered for his love of books about railroads, planes, religion, the Blessed Virgin Mary and all types of sports. His love for the Blessed Mother was beautiful to see and his devotion and faith in her kept him going in difficult times. One could not have asked for a better son and brother. John is survived by his loving mother, Evelyn Holly of Cape Coral, FL; one sister, Deborah Kooi (Tom) of Ft. Myers, FL; as well as one uncle, James Schmitt of Evansville, IN. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert James Holly, and an infant brother. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Boulevard, Cape Coral, FL 33904 with Reverend Gordon Zanetti officiating.
