John “Jack” R. McCaw, 76, a resident of Cape Coral, formerly of New Windsor, IL, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 in Cape Coral. He was born July 6, 1948 in Moline, IL to Floyd and Evelyn McCaw, now deceased.
Jack graduated from Winola High School in 1966. He was employed at International Harvester as a welder for over 30 years, before retiring in 2001. Jack enjoyed drag racing, darts, poker, carpentry, fishing, and rummage sales. He was a master at getting a better deal, at a cheaper cost, on anything for sale. When he wasn’t negotiating prices, he was sketching his thoughts on paper, often using them as blueprints to build his next great invention. His smile and sense of humor were always on display and his laugh was infectious.
He is survived by his two loving sons, John (Darcy) of Bettendorf, IA, and Brady (Christy Dierks) of Eldridge, IA; two brothers, James (Sherian) of Bettendorf, IA, and Rodney of New Windsor, IL; as well as two grandchildren, Kailee and Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jo Ann.
Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
