John Brack Stocks, Sr.

John Brack Stocks, Sr., 66, a Cape Coral resident for the past 31 years, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 in Cape Coral. He was born on March 4, 1949 in Birmingham, Alabama to J.B. and Mary Louise Stocks, now deceased.

"Red", "Papa", "Dad" was very well loved and he loved everybody. All of the neighbors knew his name. He was a wonderful husband, brother, father and grandfather. He loved to fish, camp and basically anything to do with the outdoors. He loved his family. They were his world. His main advice to his children was that no matter how hard it gets that your family should always stay together. He had a silly sense of humor and a laugh and a smile that would turn your day around. His grandchildren were everything to him. He was a natural carpenter. He built everything including many houses on Sanibel Island. There wasn't anything that he could not build or fix and he has passed that talent onto his children.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Kathy Stocks, of Cape Coral; three loving children, Amy Jo Conley, John Stocks, Jr. (Lisa), and Jason Stocks, all of Cape Coral; four loving siblings, Susan Stocks of Gunnersville, AL, Marie Washburn (Bill) of Alexander City, AL, J.B. Stocks, Jr. (Louise) of Gadsden, AL, and Joseph Stocks (Doris), also of Gadsden, AL; sister in law, Joyce Stocks of Rainbow City, AL; six grandchildren, Leah, Dakota, Tyler, Madison, Anthony, and Steven; mother in law, Barbara Jane Lucas of Cape Coral; as well as Rusty the dog.
