John Frederick Wohlfart

John Frederick Wohlfart, 89, a resident of Cape Coral, FL, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born January 25th, 1934 in Jamaica Queens, NY to Adam and Edna Swan Wohlfart, now deceased.

John had many hobbies, loved history, and reading -- everything and anything he could get his hands on. He was very dedicated to his wife, Grace. They married in 1955 after being introduced by John’s sister, Joan. Joan knew Grace through The Sayville Musical Workshop. John and Grace raised three children, John, Thomas, and Eva. They were both very dedicated to their family and shared quality time through family activities such as

camping, sailing, and skiing. Growing up, his children never wanted for anything. John was known for his intelligence and photographic memory. He consumed knowledge as few people can. John instilled in his children a strong work ethic which he demonstrated by working well into his late 70s.

John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Grace Wohlfart, in 2017.

He is survived by his children, John Frederick Wohlfert (Karen Wohlfert), Thomas Scott Wohlfart (Jane Wohlfart), Eva Marie Wohlfart Grant (Kelly Grant); grandson, Adam John (AJ) Wohlfert; sister, Joan Wendel; and niece, Tracy Baugher.

We will forever miss his wit, smile, sense of humor, kindness, guidance, and genius. Rest in peace knowing you did well, you were loved, and you will be missed.
