Joseph Vernon Amburgey

Joseph Vernon Amburgey, 74, a resident of Lee County, FL for more than 20 years, formerly of Virginia, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 in Cape Coral. He was born June 23, 1946 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to Carl Veron Amburgey and Doris Anne (Hossler) Amburgey, now deceased.

Joseph was a veteran of the United States Airforce. He was a Jack of all trades……He worked most of his life in sales and was very successful at Investments such as real-estate, precious metals and various other ventures.  He was a pilot and owned his own plane. He and Steve Arnold would fly together.  In his spare time, he volunteered to rescue cats and immunize for feline leukemia.  "Dad you had a heart of Gold. You are Forever in our hearts and truly missed".

He is survived by his loving daughter, Tammy Tinch & her husband Ken Tinch of Dowagiac, MI; four siblings, Martha Sue Miklik "Susie", Esther Hope Johnson "Ricki", David Karl Amburgey, and Paul Amburgey; grandchildren, Nicholas Sobczak and Marrisha Weber; great grandchildren, Lacey Weber, Mason Weber, and Oaklyn Weber; first wife and long term friend Betty Louise (Green) Arnold, as well as best friends, Tom Taber, Paul Swartz, Gaylord, Scott, and 2 beloved cats Boca and Nickie.

Boca & Nickie have found a new forever home with Aunt "Ricki" Ester Hope Johnson in Goshen Indiana. Ricki was very passionate about ensuring their safety and flew to Cape Coral, returning with both to Goshen with the help of Aunt "Susie" Martha Sue Miklik who made it possible for them to fly home.
