Joseph “Joe” Michael Dwyer

Joseph “Joe” Michael Dwyer, 64, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL for the past ten years, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 in North Fort Myers. He was born August 21, 1957 in Wilmington, DE.
Joe was of the Christian faith and served in the United States Coast Guard. He received The Metal of Accommodation while stationed on the 82 foot vessel USCG Cutter " Point Highland" based on Chincoteague Island, Va. Joe with his wife June raised their children to have strong work ethics and to live by The Golden Rule and to respect themselves and others. Joe enjoyed teaching the children to think for themselves and understand how mechanical things operate in order solve problems. By the time Joe was in his mid-20's, he was already the father to 4.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, June Dwyer of North Fort Myers; loving parents, Paul and Jean Dwyer of North Fort Myers; children, Heather Preston with her husband CJ Preston of Delmar, DE, and Jennifer Dwyer of Naples, FL; stepchildren, Kevin West of Millsboro, DE, Dustin West of Meadville, PA, and Dr. Chadwick West of Croton Falls, NY; sisters, Karen Pinion of North Fort Myers, Patricia Pietuszki of North Fort Myers, and Annie Cochran (Stephen) of Elkton, MD; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; six cousins; as well as two nieces and a nephew.
Joe was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Michelle Dwyer on September 6, 1982 at 8:20 PM, when God called her home.
