Joseph Peter Habuda, III

Joseph Peter Habuda, III, 65, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 35 years, formerly of Youngstown, OH, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 in Cape Coral. He was born December 25, 1957 in Youngstown to Joseph and Helen Habuda, Jr., now deceased. Joe was a member of St. Christine Roman Catholic Church in Youngstown and St. Andrew Catholic Church in Cape Coral.

Intelligent and funny with a big personality, Joe was a graduate of Ursuline High School in Youngstown and The Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He spent years working for family businesses in Ohio, including The Habuda Concrete and Supply Co., and retired as a water treatment plant operator in Florida.

He was a lifelong car buff who had a deep fondness for Corvettes and enjoyed watching auto racing, particularly Formula One. His love of history, rock ‘n’ roll and football never waned, and the diehard Ohio State fan was looking forward to the start of football season, as he did every year. He found great joy in watching his alma mater tear up the gridiron.

Joe could talk to anyone, and his memory was unmatched. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and never shied away from having robust discussions, especially with his daughters. Without a doubt, they were his proudest accomplishments. He loved spending time with them and his wife.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Mary P. (Daley) Habuda of Cape Coral; two loving daughters, Meaghan Habuda of Tampa, FL, and Katie Habuda of Cape Coral; sister, Monica Feldman (Barry) of Cape Coral; niece, Jennifer; nephew, Sidney; as well as Heidi, the German Shepherd, and Ripley, his daughters’ college cat.
