Josephine Gulden Stewart, 73, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 1961, formerly of Milton, FL, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 in Fort Myers. She was born December 5, 1947 in Milton to William and Lessie Gulden, now deceased.
Josephine was the first woman to drive a cement mixer in Lee County. She later became a school bus driver with the Lee County School District for 23 years. Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her children, Lisa John (Aaron) of Cape Coral, FL, Jimmie Boyd (Antonia) of St. Matthews, SC, and Leslie Landers (James) of Fort Myers, FL; siblings, Betty Johnson (Si) of Buckingham, FL, Eddie Gulden of E. Fort Myers, FL, and Patsy McDonald of North Fort Myers; sister-in-law, Lori Gulden of Lehigh Acres, FL; 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Josephine was preceded in death by four siblings, Johnny Gulden, Margaret Hudson, Carol Bryant, and Richard Gulden; son, Alonzo Lee Stewart, Jr.; grandson, Alonzo Lee Stewart, III; as well as granddaughter, Sydney Graham.
A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, 12777 FL-82, Lehigh Acres, FL 33973 with Pastor Benny McLeod officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM Friday March 12, 2021 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd. Fort Myers, FL 33916.
