Karen Myers Livesay

August 9, 1965 — July 18, 2023

Karen Myers Livesay passed away peacefully in her home on July 18, 2023, at 57 years of age, in Fort Myers, Florida. A lifelong nurse, caring mother, and valued friend to all who knew her, she had an unrivaled passion and spunk for life.

Born August 9th, 1965, to Edward Myers Sr., and Alberta Myers in Westminster, Maryland, as the youngest of the four infamous Myers children. Her love of mischievous fun started at an early age with her brothers Joey and Eddie (though Sharon, the eldest of the children, was always innocent, of course!) It was through their influence, as well as the sensible teachings of her parents, that she grew into the wonderful and energetic individual that we all remember and love.

Always striving to help others, Karen dedicated her life to nursing, a career that she would continue in for over thirty years. She fondly told of the stories her many patients shared with her, bringing joy to them by always lending a listening ear or a helping hand. Her selflessness was exemplified even more when, in 2015, she moved to Florida to provide aid for her ailing mother. She continued to balance her career in nursing with the care she was providing her mother, when she too became ill with cancer sometime later.

Karen's enthusiasm for work was equally balanced, and in many ways surpassed, by her passion for fun. A lifelong member of the Moose Fraternity and accomplished billiards player, she often enjoyed the company of her many close friends at the organization. She also enjoyed camping in rural parts of Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as holding a strong passion for the beaches of southwest Florida. She often recalled how grateful she was in her later years for being able to finally escape the snow of the North!

Always a strong and independent person, Karen's fortitude in life continued, even to the very end, as she kept up the fight against cancer, even to her last days. All who knew her take pride in how hard she fought, as well as her tenacity, no matter what life threw at her.

She is survived by her sons, Bradley C. Livesay of East Berlin, Pennsylvania and Zachary J. Livesay of Mt. Holly Springs, Pennsylvania; as well as her sister, Sharon Green of Fort Myers, Florida and brother, Joseph Myers of Silver Run, Maryland.

She is preceded by her parents, Edward Myers Sr. and Alberta Myers; as well as her brother, Edward Myers, Jr.
