Keith J. Larson, Sr.

Keith Joseph Larson, Sr. passed away peacefully on August 10, 2016 at his home in Cape Coral, FL at the age of 66, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Peggy Larson; his daughter Melissa Larson, his son Keith Larson, Jr. and his wife Katie, and two beloved granddaughters Madeleine Larson and Ava Larson, as well as his two brothers, Lary Larson and his wife Annick, Rich Larson and his wife Flora, sister in law Tina Larson, sister in law Cricket Judd, brother in law George Barth and his wife Roberta and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Virginia and Richard Larson; his brother John Larson; and his son Adam Larson, who died in infancy. Keith was born on March 15, 1950 in Point Pleasant, N.J. Keith spent his childhood in nearby Seagirt N.J. He graduated from preparatory school at Kent School in Connecticut and went on to attend the University of Maryland in 1969 to study business. Keith wed Peggy Barth on October 28, 1972. The same year, Keith joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for the next 24 years, retiring in 1996 as a Chief Petty Officer. His distinguished career in the Navy took the family all over the East Coast from Florida to Massachusetts, Virginia, Georgia, and Maryland. Keith was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing football, baseball and golf in his early years. Keith enjoyed playing golf on his Navy team as well as his many golf matches with his three brothers over the years. Keith was a Washington Redskins fan all of his life and you would be hard pressed to convince him to miss a game. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.Family and friends areinvited to join us in remembering Keith at that time.
