Kelly Nadine Burgess

Kelly Nadine Burgess, 52, a resident of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023, in Cape Coral at 4:39 PM. 

Kelly was born in Belvedere, Illinois on May 2, 1970. She resided there for only a few years before her family moved to Florida. Our mother was a huge part of the family and always tried to get everyone together. Whether that be for holidays, random weekend vacations, or to have a poker night at her younger sister Karlene's house. She had great passion for all things cosmetology. She had been a hairdresser for over 20 years in Florida. She made so many friends along the way in her career. 

Even in her final days she was making friends. While at Hospice her nurses and aides all fell for Kelly's charisma. She had a love for Pepsi and would only drink Pepsi. Her nurse had brought her a Coke and Kelly refused to drink it because "it's red, not blue". Even when she wasn't feeling completely herself, she still knew her favorite drink. 

She is proceeded in death by her soulmate and husband, Robert Scott Burgess. For the last four years after his passing, Kelly has missed him dearly, as well as the rest of the family. They had been inseparable since they were 16 years old. Robert and Kelly tied the knot on April 14, 1990, where they then had two beautiful children, Christina Nicole Burgess and Meledie Grace Burgess.

Her husband's family has also been by her side throughout the endeavor of losing him and in her final days. Her mother-in-law, Carol Marano as well as the remaining members from her husband’s side, all will miss her extremely and all the memories they share will live long in the family. 

Kelly is also proceeded in death by her mother, Donna Mae Phoenix who recently passed away; as well as her father, Arthur Frank Phoenix.

Kelly is survived by her wonderful children, Christina Burgess and Meledie Burgess; loving sisters, Kimberly Ryan (husband, Tony Ryan) and Karlene Foronda (spouse, Robert Syfrett); as well as her brother, Nickolas Phoenix. Kelly also had a gracious grandchild, Ryleigh Elizabeth Santiago-Ramos, whom she adored more than anything. Kelly is also survived by her plethora of nieces and nephews, Anthony Foronda, Dallas Syfrett, Melissa Phoenix, Jessica Phoenix, Elijah Phoenix, and Josiah Phoenix. As well as her grand nephews and nieces, Zhovon, Lillian, Zane, Cal, Madison, Korey, Preston, Raegan, Levi, DemiLee, Kayson, Gracie and Karrick.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on May 20, 2023 at Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33916.
