Kenneth Edwin Beers

Kenneth Edwin Beers, 85, of Cape Coral, FL and formerly of Marshfield, MA and Hyde Park, MA passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

Ken, also known as Eddie to many of his friends in Massachusetts, was born March 26, 1938 to the late Isaac and Lillian Beers of Hyde Park. He attended Hyde Park High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Airforce. Following his military service, he worked various jobs until he joined the Boston Police Department in 1970; where he served the City of Boston Police Department until 1999 when he retired as a Detective.

Ken (Eddie) married Frannie (Lang) Beers of Mattapan on April 23, 1960. They had an amazing life together for 43 years and raised 5 children before her passing in 2004.

Ken moved to Florida and met and married his wife Donna Lintner-Beers on July 9, 2011. They had 14 wonderful years together before his passing. Ken was one of a kind, and a loving, caring person. He lived and loved life to the fullest. His sense of humor, his compassion for others, his love of travel (Eddie and The Cruisers), his adventuresome spirit, his enthusiasm for golf and an overall zest for life itself. To know him was to love him…there will never be anyone like him again.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Donna Lintner-Beers of Cape Coral, FL; his children, Cynthia Beers (Stefan Eaton) of Weymouth, MA, Kenneth Edwin Beers, Jr. of Braintree, MA, Barbara Beers of Dorchester, MA, Susan Cotter (John) of Marshfield, MA and Lorraine Beers also of Braintree, MA; grandchildren, John Cotter and Kevin Cotter; and nieces, Lynette McMillan and Laurel Sorby. Additionally, he is also survived by his Brothers and Sisters in Blue.

Kenneth was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marjorie Sorby and Gwendolyn Martin.

The family wishes to thank Gulf Coast Village and Hope Hospice for their kind and gentle care.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Couch Cemetery, Union St, Marshfield, MA 02050 with Police and Military Honors presented. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 PM at Fairview Inn, 133 Ocean St, Marshfield, MA 02050.

Additionally, another Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Personal Touch Banquet and Catering, 1530 Santa Barbara Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33991 with Shannon D. Mullins Officiating.
