Kenneth (Ken) Clarence Krug, 72, passed away peacefully at his Cape Coral, Florida residenceWednesday, February 10th, 2016. His wife Connie and his sister Carol were at hisside. He was born October 9th, 1943 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Vincent & Eileen Krug. He was preceded in death by his parents, his "Papa", Denny Marks and his sister in lawKimberley Krug, and his labrador retrievers, Jessie and Emma. Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Constance (Connie) Krug of Cape Coral;brother, William Vincent Krug, MD (Shelley) of Mentor, OH; sisters, Denise Resar (Kenneth) ofAvon Lake, OH and Carol Love (Robert) of Chardon, OH; as well as nieces and nephews, DrWilliam Vincent Krug, Jr., Matthew Krug, Lauren Guren, MD, Carrie Nuggud, Cristen Love,Andrew Resar, and Justin Resar. Ken attended University Heights High School in University Heights OH, and graduated fromMiami University of Ohio. His marketing career with Avery Dennison began in 1973 andspanned more than three decades. He retired in 2006 to a home on Pine Island in Bokeelia, FL.Ken was a member of Mentor Harbor Yachting Club, Catawba Island Club, the Lake CountyYMCA, Holden Arboretum, The Fairport Historical Society, The Cleveland Botanical Gardens,The Cleveland Museum of Art and Boat U.S. Originally from northeast OH, Ken spent time boating on The Great Lakes. His lifelong passionwas boating. He was known for his skill as a sailor as well as a power boater. His love of thewater fueled his boat ownership and his many boating trips with friends and family. Ken lovedmany things; ice cream, cheeseburgers, corned beef sandwiches, sports, handball, pepperonipizza, dogs, licorice, history and cars. After a safari in Africa in 2012, he was captivated byAfrican wildlife, especially elephants. He fostered an orphaned baby elephant at the DavidSheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Kenya. There was only one thing that Ken loved more than boating. This was his great love for his family and friends. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a husband and a friend - above all else. His loyalty, his sense of humor, his courage, his love and his kindness were the hallmarks of hislife. Ken will be missed and forever held in the hearts of those who were close to him.
