Kerry William "Hoagy" Hemperly, 63, a Cape Coral, FL resident since 2006, formerly of Carlisle, PA passed away after a long battle with cancer on Monday, August 31, 2015 at The Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral, FL. He was born September 19, 1951 in Carlisle, PA. Kerry graduated from Carlisle Area High School in 1969 followed by an Associates in Science degree from Harrisburg Area Community College in 1971. He worked for the former United Telephone Company (now Sprint/CenturyLink) for 31 years as an engineer, manager, and sales executive. By the time he retired in 2003, he was a seven time Pinnacle Award winner. Kerry was an avid hunter and saltwater fisherman. His hobbies included anything electronic, woodworking and photography. He was a member of The Elks, Moose Lodge, and The Matlacha Yacht Club. Kerry is known for originating "AA" Attitude Adjustment events in several states. He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Hemperly of Cape Coral; loving mother, Christene "Teenie" Baughman Hemperly of Carlisle, PA; as well as his loving sister, Cheri Kessler of Carlisle, PA. Kerry was preceded in death by his father, George William Hemperly. No formal services are planned at this time.
