Leona Rae Thebo

Leona Rae Thebo, 92, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past six years, formerly of Ionia, MI, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 in Cape Coral. She was born on June 28, 1931 in Baltimore, MD to Walter and Margaret Bange, now deceased.

Leona was and remained a woman of faith until her last breath. She fiercely believed in God, often read her Bible and her faith guided her every move. She loved watching baseball, football and game shows. She was a talented singer. In the last few years of her life, she enjoyed playing lottery tickets, giving treats to the family dog “India”, sitting out in the lanai and going on short car rides with her son Keith. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten, by those who loved her.  

She is survived by five loving children, Delbert Thebo III (Pam) of Fenwick, MI, Diana Gaskill of Holt, MI, Walter Thebo (Beth) of Lowell, MI, Keith Thebo (Jackie) of Cape Coral, FL, and Ace Thebo (Amy) of NC; sister, Delores of AZ; twelve grandchildren, Judy, Joyce, Steven, Jonathan, Scott, Skye, Cody, Clayton, Julia, Heather, Levi and Sage; numerous great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Leona was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delbert E. Thebo Jr. in 1992; her beloved son, Kenney Thebo; granddaughter, Jennifer; two grandsons, Walt Earl Thebo and Derek Thebo; a great grandson, Dylan Thebo; as well as four siblings.

Private family services will be held at a later date in MI.
