Linda Clara White

Linda Clara White, resident of North Fort Myers, Fl since 2022, formerly of Cottage Grove, MN passed away Sunday March 19, 2023 after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was born as the third of four beautiful daughters to Otto and Clara Schwanke. Linda enjoyed her childhood on a farm outside of Creston, Nebraska feeding the chickens. After her father passed away; she, her sisters, and mother moved to Fremont, Nebraska where she finished high school.

After high school Linda moved to Chicago, IL where she attended secretarial school. While waiting out a snow storm on a city bus in downtown Chicago she met the love of her life, Terry White. She and Terry were married in Fremont, NE and then moved to St Paul, Minnesota to be near family. Linda then pursued her career for the railroad. She and Terry welcomed their son, Terrance and shortly after Linda put her career on hold to raise their son. They went on to have two daughters, Tiffany and Tamara. After her youngest daughter went off to Kindergarten, she began her second career working for Target. It was at Target she was able to shine with her love and kindness for others. Her hobby was giving and she was able to buy toys on clearance. All eight of her grandchildren all knew her basement had the best toys and always looked forward to birthdays and holidays where she would give the best gifts. She had a heart of gold and always wanted others to be happy and would stop a nothing to do that.

Linda and Terry, also known as Grandma and Grandpa White, were the biggest fans of every activity their 8 grandchildren were involved in. Linda would do anything for her family and went peacefully with the love of her life by her side. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Otto and mother, Clara; and sister, Nancy. She is survived by her husband, Terry White; her three children, Terrance (Chris) White, Tiffany (Erick) Oie, Tamara (Mack) McLarty. Her eight grandchildren, Logan Oie, Ethan White, Austin Oie, Ava White, Dylan Oie, Cale McLarty, Colton McLarty, and Brock McLarty; her two sisters, Carolee (Richard) Berhens of Lincoln, NE and Susan Harrison of Longmount, CO.

A Celebration of Life party to be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at N5262 430th St, Ellsworth, WI. A balloon sendoff will follow at 6:00 PM.
