With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lisa Fischer; (nee Ferkel), a vibrant soul who left a mark on the lives of everyone she encountered. Lisa was born on September 12, 1975 in Los Gatos, CA to her loving parents, Dorothy and James Ferkel. She was a cherished daughter and sister to her family.
Lisa’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering devotion to family. She married her love, William (Bill) Fischer, in 2014. Together they shared countless adventures and built a home filled with memories, sunshine, and seashells in Cape Coral, FL. Lisa’s legacy extends to her four beloved sons, Cole, Lane, Sawyer, and Kamden. In 2022, Lisa welcomed her first grandchild and her granddaughter, Luella, who she adored and spoiled relentlessly. She was immensely proud of her family and could most often be found cheering her sons on in their various activities, from football to choir.
Lisa’s warm and bubbly personality was infectious. She was a source of comfort, a friend to all, and her laughter could light up the darkest of rooms. Pink was Lisa’s signature color, and she had an affection for all things Lilly Pulitzer. Her vibrant wardrobe reflected her bright personality. Lisa’s happy place was Sanibel Island where she enjoyed shelling along the beach in the sun.
Lisa’s lifelong involvement with the Rockridge School District spoke volumes about her dedication to her community and her family. Between growing up within the district, working in the school system, and putting all four of her sons through the same schools, Lisa dedicated over 30 years to the Rockridge community. Lisa’s impact on the community and its children will forever be cherished.
A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held on September 24, 2023 at Snowstar Winter Park in Andalusia, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to #FMBSTRONG, https://donorbox.org/Lisa-Fischer-Memorial-Fund, or to the Go Fund Me at https://gofund.me/c9e1c252.
