Lois Marie Watkins

Lois Marie Watkins, 68, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2020, formerly of Georgetown, KY, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, in Cape Coral, FL. She was born on June 11, 1957, in Buckhorn, KY and preceded in death by her mother, Rosemary King, and two brothers, Earl King and Larry Turner.

Lois was one of a kind! With a mighty spirit and ferocious heart, she loved her friends and family deeply. She dreamed big and saw no goal she couldn’t achieve. From her years at Lexmark, at Brooks, McComb, and Fields law firm, to the good ole days at the laundry press - she was always reliable and a hard-working woman. Some could even take advantage of the opportunity to say stubborn, but there wasn’t anything she couldn’t accomplish!

With her nose in a book and big dreams being planned, Lois knew the importance of family and taking a million photos every opportunity. Tales of the Caspian Sea and of the days of the Buckhorn girls’ basketball team will always be remembered.

Lois had a kind heart and a listening ear anytime you needed someone. You may not have liked the advice she had, but you were going to get it with her. With honesty and an open heart, she was always there. Her loving heart will always live on through her legacy, reminding us all that - family is the most important thing!

She is survived by her loving long-time companion, Rocky Lawson of Cape Coral, FL; daughters, Brandy (Robert) Griffin of Lexington, KY, Amber Watkins of Lexington, KY, and Megan (Kendra) Watkins of Lexington, KY; a stepson, David (Kim) Lawson; three grandchildren, Mandric (Aalyah) Wheat, Sydney (Carlos) Wheat, Hailee (Kamron) Wheat; a great-grandson, A’mari Bienvenue, with another great-grandson on the way. She also had a host of family members and friends.
