Malcom Edgar Walker Sr., known affectionately as Mack or Pop, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born on November 25, 1940, in Draper, NC, and most recently resided in Cape Coral, FL.
Mack was a man of many passions and pursuits. He had a deep love for the Word of God, golf, music, and spending time with his wife and family. A man of scholarship and faith, he held an MBA, a Master's of Theology, and a Doctorate of Divinity. Mack loved traveling and exploring breathtaking landscapes alongside his beloved wife, Toni.
As the Pastor, Mack impacted the lives of countless individuals throughout his many years of ministry. He entered ministry as a worship leader at Love and Grace Fellowship and later Cape Coral Community Church. He moved into an Associate Pastor role at Cape Coral Assembly of God before founding Living Waters Family Worship Center in 2006. He was known for his bright, dynamic personality, his humor, and his ability to connect with others through his relatable and loving nature. Malcom's favorite scripture, 2 Timothy 2:15, states, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” This served as a guiding principle for his ministry.
Above all, Mack cherished his wife, Toni, with an unwavering devotion. He loved her with a love reminiscent of Christ's love for the Church, and he would have laid down his life for her.
Mack is survived by his loving wife, Toni, and his children Malcom Edgar (Heather) Walker, Jr., Rachel Weber, Sarah Smith, Daniel Walker, stepchildren Elena (Jason) Miller, Stephanie (Ernie) Williams, Andrea (Nickardo) Murillo-Salmon, and Joseph (Margo) Murillo, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Zoe, Georgia, and Dagen Walker; Michael, James, and Joseph Weber, Emma Smith, Antonio and Jori Pineda, Nathanial and Brady Miller, Jada and Jaiden Salmon, Gianna, Isabella, Sophia, and Juliet Murillo.
The impact of Mack's life and his dedication to serving God and sharing His Word will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His leadership as a pastor and his contributions to the community will leave a lasting legacy. Mack's faith in God and his devotion to Jesus Christ guided his life, providing strength and inspiration to all who crossed his path.
Mack was preceded in death by his mother Ethel Queenie Clifton, father Edgar Walker, and sister Olivia Spencer.
Mack will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the community he served so faithfully. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Mack has fought the good fight, he has finished his race, and has kept the faith. Now remains for him, a crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
