Manuel John Lopes

Manuel John Lopes, 79, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 1998, formerly of Warwick, RI, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024 in Cape Coral. He was born January 26, 1945 in Boston, MA to Custudio and Mary Lopes, now deceased.

Manuel was of the Catholic faith. He was a warrior who battled Cancer. He Loved the New England Patriots and his grandchildren. He celebrated their birthdays by making them a cake of their choice.  He enjoyed feeding his family and continued to cook for them even when he could no longer eat. In his younger days he enjoyed playing cards and listening to music. He retired from the Pipe Covers Insulators Heat Frost and Asbestos Workers Union Local 31 before moving to Florida.   

He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Lopes of Cape Coral, FL; six children, Son Manuel Lopes, Jr. (Melissa) of Westport, MA, Son Christopher Lopes (Carrie) of East Providence, RI, Daughter Renee Davis of Phoenix, AZ, and Daughter Larissa Brathwaite (Marlon) of Cape Coral, FL; step daughter, Monica Vinson of Fort Myers, FL; step son, James Nickerson (Sabrina) of Orlando, FL; three sisters, Penelope Hanson of North Ft. Myers, FL , Elaina Perry of Hanson, MA, and Pamela Polk (Don) of GA; Grandchildren; Kenneth Davis of Northern California, Anthony Davis of Arizona, Darryl Davis of Arizona, Dominique Davis of Arizona, Ashley Davis of North Carolina, Tre’von Silva of San Diego California,  Manuel Lopes III of Rehoboth, Ma, Keith Lopes of Rehoboth, Ma, Christopher Perez Lopes of Providence, RI, Noah Perez-Lopes Of East Providence, RI, Juliana Nickerson of Orlando, FL,  Brady Vinson of Fort Myers, FL, Bria Brathwaite of Cape Coral, FL, Mia Brathwaite of Cape Coral, FL and 27 great grandchildren.

Manuel was preceded in death by daughter, Stacey Silva; as well as brothers, Custudio Andrade, Antonio Pina, Sr., Donald Pina, Sr., and Custudio (Torrey) Lopes, Jr.
