Marie Closette Charles, 75, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past thirteen years, formerly of Miami, FL, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in Cape Coral. She was born March 25, 1947, in Cayes, Haiti, to Mathias and Josiane Génois, now deceased.
Marie was of the Catholic faith. The rarest of pearls to have in your life, the most faithful wife to her husband. Very protective of her grandchildren, kind, generous, loyal, and the most courageous person we knew. Although she faced many challenges throughout her life, she never complained, never gave up, and always looked for solutions. She was the most precious mother & wife, a rock when our world was crumbling. A woman who was always by your side & ready to help those in need. Her determination and braveness are what she passed on to her children. She taught us how to be like her and appreciate life; she lived her life on her own terms and lived it well. You will be missed and will always remain in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years whom she married on November 15, 1982, Robert Charles Sr. of Cape Coral, with whom they have four loving children, Céliane Charles of Dominican Republic, Tatiana Charles (Moise Banatte) of Cape Coral, Robert Charles II of Cape Coral, and Annie Charles also of Cape Coral; siblings, Eunie Estriplet (Roody) of Miami, FL, and Oduy Joseph (Odette) of Naples, FL; as well as two grandchildren, Kenya Jeune and Chloe Banatte, both of Cape Coral.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 17, 2022, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd. South, Cape Coral, FL 33904. The family will receive friends for a Time of Visitation on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916.
Committal Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 17, 2022, at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, 12777 State Road 82, Lehigh Acres, FL 33973.
After the Committal Services, the family will receive friends and family for a reception service at The Landings Yacht, Golf & Tennis Club located at 4425 S. Landings Drive, Suite 100, Fort Myers, Florida 33919.
