Marilyn Doris Wightman, 88, a resident of North Ft. Myers, Florida since 1998, formerly of Orange County, California, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 in North Ft. Myers, Florida. She was born January 1, 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa to Fredrick and Dotha Critchett, now deceased.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Joe Wightman of North Ft. Myers; and five loving children, Timothy Richard Herrick (Jeanette) of Orange County, CA, Michael Robert Dewan-Herrick (Sheena) of London, England, Jeffrey Raymond Herrick (Brenda) of Denver, CO, Susan Lyn Caple (Donald) of North Ft. Myers, FL, Jon Damon Herrick (Jennie) of North Ft. Myers, FL; 10 grandchildren; as well as 8 great grandchildren.
And also by six step children, Cheryl Wightman of Carlsbad, CA, Ned L. Wightman (Marta) of Placerville, CA, Neal Wightman (Susan) of Poway, CA, Tony B. Wightman (Ann) of Huston, TX, Bret Wightman (Laura) of Denver, CO, and Joe Wightman (Greta) of Stuttgart, Germany; 18 grandchildren; as well as 13 great grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Allan Herrick and two siblings, Elaine and Richard Critchett.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 4, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3105 Broadway Ave., Ft. Myers, FL 33901 with Bishop Thompkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place at 2:00 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
