Marjorie Ann Merhige, 78, a resident of Lee County, FL since 1989, formerly of West Islip, NY, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 in Cape Coral, FL. She was born November 3, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to Peter and Marjorie Picone, now deceased.
Marjorie, a.k.a. Cookie, was a spirited and loving woman who was devoted to her family and friends. Their well-being and happiness were the most important thing to Cookie, and maybe a close second was her enjoyment of eating clams. Baked clams, steamed clams, fried clams, linguine with white clam sauce, etc., she loved them every way. Hopefully, there is a clambake in heaven waiting for her.
She is survived by three loving children, Scott Merhige (Bronwyn) of Fort Myers, Deborah Merhige-Earle of Cape Coral, and Peter Merhige of Fort Myers; as well as six grandchildren, Jake, Thomas, Michael, Sophia, Isabella, and Ava.
Marjorie was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Matthew Quinlan.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the future. Details to be announced via www.MullinsMemorial.com
