Mark Herbert Pate, 66, a North Fort Myers resident for the last 42 years, formerly of Puerto Rico, Passed away, Saturday, September 6, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida. He was born November 7, 1958, in Connersville, Indiana.
Mark was of the Christian faith and was a US Navy veteran. He was a sergeant at Charlotte County Corrections and a sergeant at Hendry County Corrections and after twenty-five years retired. He was a wonderful father, he always said that was his favorite title but then he became a papa, and we are pretty sure that changed. He wasn't only a papa he stepped up and became more than just a papa to Ethan Santana and his wife Makayla, Lilly Santana, Lanie Pate, Zanie Pate, Alice Burns, and Julian Murray! He is our hero and has had such a major impact on all of our lives!
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Janie Pate of North Fort Myers; his mother, Minnie Pate of Connersville, IN; five children, Heather Kobilus and husband Armin of Cape Coral, Shayla Pate and husband Johnny of North Fort Myers, Myranda Pate and husband Cody of North Fort Myers, Marcus Pate and wife Grace also of North Fort Myers and Tia Davis and husband Rory of St. Augustine, FL; four siblings, Cletus Pate and wife Linda, Gerald Pate and wife Joyce, Tina Snyder and husband Ben, and Shawn Pate and wife Kim all of Indiana; eighteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as Binx the family dog.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Glen Pate, his son, Marc Pate and his grandson, Tucker Aaron.
Celebration of Life services are pending at this time.
