Marsha Lynne Smith

Marsha "Lynne" Smith, 70, a Lee County, Florida resident for the past 32 years, formerly of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 in Cape Coral, Florida. She was born July 18, 1945 in Washington, D.C. to Robert and Verna Cox, now deceased. Lynne was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Cape Coral. She assisted in youth programs and other events in her parish. She worked as an executive secretary for the Government accounting office in Washington D.C. She later worked at Lee Memorial Health Systems. Her love as a wife, mother, sister and grandmother will be missed. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Richard Smith of Cape Coral; daughter, Lisa Bird of Ft. Myers; brother, Stephen Cox of Deale, MD and sister, Bonnie Ann Cox of Estero; best friend, Jackie Tippett (Mike) of Cape Coral; granddaughter, Brianna Bird of Ft. Myers; as well as Cloe the dog. Lynne was preceded in death by a son, Richard Smith, Jr. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 4544 Coronado Pkwy., Cape Coral, FL 33904 with Pastor Dave Gowen officiating.
