Martin Elekes, 95, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 1985, formerly of Worthington, OH, passed away August 26, 2022 in Cape Coral. He was born March 11, 1927 in Farmington, WV to Laszlo (Charlie) and Rosalia (Rose) Elekes, now deceased.

Martin earned a BS in Psychology from Miami University and two Master’s Degrees from North Carolina Chapel Hill in Public Health and Business Administration. He spent most of his work career as a Public Health Administrator for the State of Ohio. He was a Veteran and served in World War II serving in Seoul, Korea as a Sergeant Major. He received an Army of Occupation Medal-Japan and a World War II Victory Medal. Martin had many interests including a love of cooking, making country wine from anything he could ferment, he possessed an extraordinary talent for growing any plant, was an exceptional handyman and Jack of all Trades employing his remarkable creativity and ingenuity. He also enjoyed playing tennis and fishing. He lived a very active and rich life well into his old age approaching his journey with positivity, strength, resilience, grace and humor. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those closest to him.

He is survived by his loving children, Jerry Elekes of North Hollywood, CA, Kathryn Spicer of Akron, OH, Karen Elekes of Dublin, OH, and Gary Elekes (Christine) of Brentwood, TN; sisters, Margaret Jenkins, Elsie Robinson, and Eaddie Sezbenski (Eddie) all of Avon Lake, OH; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Martin was preceded in death by four brothers.
