Matthew John Murphy

Matthew John Murphy, 40, a lifelong resident of Fort Myers, FL, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He was born August 15, 1980 in Fort Myers.

Matthew was of the Christian faith and attended New Life Church. He was a loving son, a brother, and a friend to so many that loved and cared for him so much.  Matthew was a very hard worker and could fix anything he put his hands on. He was a window installer by trade, and a great handyman to whoever needed him.

Matt loved people and would make new friends wherever he went. He loved a party and to have a good time. Matthew will be remembered by his infectious smile and his big heart. He will be dearly missed by many. 

He is survived by his loving mother, Wendy Haines (Tom) of Fort Myers; siblings, Michell Vazquez (Bobby) of Alva, FL, and Michael Murphy (Jeanne) of Fort Myers; his close friends, Zane Parent, David Rice, and Clint Killam; as well as a large and loving extended family and many friends.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father, John William Murphy.

Funeral Services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
