Maureen A Heuer

Maureen A. Heuer, 88, a resident of Cape Coral for the past 16 years, formerly of N. Ft. Myers and Hauppauge, NY, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 in Cape Coral. She was born December 16, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to Michael and Catherine Rogan, now deceased. Maureen was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church. She attended Bishop Reilly High School and Manhattanville College. As a young woman her career life took her from the New York Telephone Company to the Suffolk County Police Department of Long Island. When she arrived in North Ft. Myers she worked for Visually Impaired Persons (VIP) and upon retiring volunteered her time at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral. She is survived by her five loving children, Russell Heuer of Jensen Beach, FL, Kevin Heuer of Rio Vista, CA, Christopher Heuer of Salisbury, MA, Shawn Heuer of N. Ft. Myers and Kathleen Basilice and husband Vincent of Titusville, FL; one brother, James Rogan of Baldwin, NY; one sister, Rosaleen Walters and husband George of Lindenhurst, NY; six grandchildren; as well as twelve great grandchildren. Maureen was a lover of cardinals and books. Memorial Contributions in memory of Maureen Heuer are suggested to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Cir, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.
