Maureen Elizabeth White

Maureen Elizabeth McGivney White, 77, of Ridgewood NY, passed Sunday, May 30th, 2021 in her Florida Home where she resided with her daughter Veronica and family. 

Maureen was born to Thomas & Anne McGivney, August 18th, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY.  She was raised as one of 10 children in a small Brooklyn apartment.  She graduated from Catholic High School as Valedictorian in  1961.  

She leaves as her legacy four children and three Grandchildren. Daughter, Renee White,  Son,  Robert Howe with his wife, Jennifer Roth and Grandson, Robert Howe Jr., Daughter, Veronica Contino with her  husband, Joseph Contino and granddaughters, Samantha Contino, Caitlin Contino Chandler and husband, Jacob Chandler, as well as her youngest son, James Howe.  Maureen has countless nieces and nephews and was so proud to have always been the "Favorite" aunt.

Maureen was a talented, artistic, stylish, sassy funny woman.  She cared tremendously for all around her.  Crippling Rheumatoid Arthritis, and many other disfiguring ailments never stopped her from her arts and crafts, crocheting and painting up to the day of her passing.   She was a huge animal lover, saving and raising countless abandoned felines in NYC throughout her life.  She loved horror movies and kids cartoons. She was witty and sarcastic with a quick snap of her tongue however always made all those around her feel welcome.  She had very deep ties to her Catholic faith.  She was kind, and forgiving even in the hardest of circumstances.  

Big Mama Puma, We all will love and cherish you until we are together again.  

The family has decided to have a private cremation service.
