Merley Usherwood

Merley Usherwood, 77, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024 in LaBelle, FL while visiting from Canada. She was born December 2, 1946 in Jamaica to Ishmael and Mavis Hill, now deceased.

Merley was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.

She is survived by two loving children, Dawnette Baldeo (Greg) of LaBelle, and Janetta Jerrett (Veich) of Canada; seven siblings, Verna Granville (Garth) of Canada, Kerene Stevens (Bevon) of Jamaica, Mildred Hill of TX, Winsome (Barry) of Jamaica, Owen “Dougie” Hill (Ann) of Jamaica, Nimroy Hill of FL, and Kenrick Hill (Maria) of Jamaica; four grandchildren, Rashaun (Knislia), Javar, Renee (Stephen), and Clayton;  as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Merley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leroy Usherwood in 2023; as well as two siblings.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 190 Homestead Road South, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936 with Pastor Greg Baldeo officiating. The family will receive friends for a Time of Visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Committal Services will follow at Fort Denaud Cemetery in LaBelle.
