Michael Francis Clifford, 73, a resident of Eliot, ME, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in Lehigh Acres, FL. He was born May 19, 1948 in Brockton, MA to James J. and Florence Clifford.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Kathleen Gregoire of Eliot, ME and Lehigh Acres, FL; three children, Rachel Cotter and husband Greg of Ayer, MA, Douglas DeGrappo and wife Maria of Eliot, ME and Michelle Castelloe and husband Clifton of Charlotte, NC; one brother James Clifford of Naples, FL; one sister, Sheila Canava and husband Joe of Hudson, NH; nine grandchildren, Griffon, Camden, and Nolan Cotter; Samuel and Luca DeGrappo; Isabella, Lucy, Vivian and Violet Castelloe; sister-in-law, Dina Clifford as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Michael was born in Abington, MA, where he lived until he was 12 when his family moved to Littleton, MA. He graduated from Littleton High school in 1966 and attended Mt. Wachusett Community College and Salem State College. His career of 44 years was with MIT, Lincoln Laboratory as a Buyer. He married his wife Kathleen on the beach in St. Croix in 2000. He enjoyed traveling with Kathleen to Ireland, South Africa, California and many more places. He loved spending time watching his grandchildren play sports and taking yearly trips to Steele Hill. He was a sound advice giver, practical, thoughtful and a true gentleman. He was always ready to lend or tell a good old joke. Michael truly enjoyed time at the Portsmouth Elks and as Santa’s #1 helper, he loved the magic of Christmas and spreading joy.
Michael was preceded in death by his son, Nathaniel Clifford; and sister, Ann Nichols as well as brother, David Clifford and sister-in–law Daine Clifford.
Memorial Services will be held in Portsmouth, NH at a later date to be determined.
