Nancy Jean Frabutt

Nancy Jean Frabutt, 91, moved to Cape Coral in 1984 from Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan, and passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023. She was born June 17, 1932 to Catherine Koehler Doyle and Francis (Frank) Doyle, both deceased.

She was married to Robert E. (Bob) Massie from 1952 until his death in 1990. Nancy later married former high school sweetheart, Peter J. Frabutt, CPA, until his death in 2014.

Nancy and her first husband, Bob were avid boaters and, as members of the US Power Squadron, traveled the Great Lakes at length, and later brought their boat from Michigan to Florida through multiple waterways over to New York and down the eastern seaboard. They were also world travelers, and spent time in various European countries, went on an African safari, as well as visited India, mainland China, and Japan.

Nancy worked for many years with her first husband Bob as his office administrator until their retirement in 1983. After his death and her later remarriage, she moved to Bonita Springs, Florida with her husband Peter in 1993 and worked with him to found and manage on accounting firm.

Nancy had five children with her first husband Bob. She is survived by four of her children: James E. Massie of Cape Coral, FL; Nancy J. Nester (Gary) of West Bloomfield, MI; Michael F. Massie (Susan) of North Fort Myers, FL; and Michelle F. Welch, of Cape Coral, FL. She is also survived by her loving sister, Phyllis M. Price (Robert) of Lake Forest, IL. She has three delightful grandchildren: William E. Welch; Dillon M. Massie (Jordan); and Logan M. Massie. Her son Robert J. Massie passed away in 2020.
