Naomi Stevenson Sholette, 87, a Three Mile Bay, NY resident and a winter resident of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 in Ft. Myers, FL. She was born August 17, 1927 in Ogdensburg, NY to Wilbert and Stella Stevenson, now deceased.
Naomi was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Black River, NY. She worked for the New York Telephone Company. She was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of New York and held many executive positions. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star and was a proud member of the Daughters of the Nile holding many official positions including Queen. She belonged to the Community Club in Sun-N-Fun Mobile Home Park and served on the Entertainment Committee in Florida.
She is survived by her loving son, Bob Sholette and wife Linda of Ft. Myers and Three Mile Bay, NY; two grandchildren, Bobby Sholette and wife Melissa of Charlotte, NC and Kerri Crandall and husband Ron of Rochester, NY; as well as her companion, Harry Coleman of Ft. Myers and Forestport, NY.
Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon E. Sholette in 1994 and her brother, Kenneth Stevenson, a brother, Omar Stevenson, and a sister Lillian (Stevenson) Stephenson.
Private Memorial Services will be held in New York and Florida.
