Nicholas Walter Moreback, 77, a resident f Cape Coral, FL for the past 27 years, formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Cape Coral. He was born August 21, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to Charles and Rose Moreback, now deceased.
Nicholas was of the Catholic faith and served in the United States Army. Prior to his illness he was an avid tennis player, loved boating, motorcycle riding and dancing and of course his pets. He had an Associates degree in criminal science and was a New York City police officer for 22 years. He served his country in the army and was in Vietnam for two years where he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart with oak leaf clusters, the Air Medal and the National Defense service medal. He also assisted many veterans in obtaining the benefits they were entitled to.
He was a devoted husband and a kind, compassionate caring person, he will be missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Moreback of Cape Coral; two loving children, Nicholas Moreback (Leeann) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Michael Moreback (Kathy) of Long Island, NY; three siblings, Monica Rizza of NY, Rosemary Belardo of Long Island, NY, and Robert Moreback (Barbara) of Levittown, NY; as well as two grandchildren, Mave Moreback and Jack Moreback.
Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Mullins Memorial, 1056 NE 7th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33909 with Pastor Mike Carter officiating.
