Nora Luz Zayas

Nora Luz Zayas, 92, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 24 years, formerly of Miami, FL, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 in Cape Coral. She was born March 20, 1930 in Cuba to Juan and Angela Robles, now deceased.

Nora was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Andrew Catholic Church in Cape Coral. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

A personal note from her loved ones: Querida Abuela. Mami. Aguita. Nora. Luz. Lucy. Lucita. So many names for one special soul. She radiated kindness and spread happiness to everyone around her. She exhumed patience through her caring eyes, calm voice, and the gentle touch of her soft hands. Her compassion was undeniable. She was always the light in the darkness. The calm in the chaos. The patience in the resistance. The compassion in the indifference. Querida Abuela. Mami. Aguita. Nora. Luz. Lucy. Lucita…she will always be the core in all of our hearts. We love her, miss her and one day, we will all be together again in heaven’s embrace. Besos y abrasos siempre. 

She is survived by two loving children, Janett Martell of Cape Coral, and Jackie Blanco (Ed), also of Cape Coral; brother, Edgardo Robles of Cuba; four grandchildren, John David Martell, Jennifer Martell Kane. Janie Joyce, and Edward Blanco; as well as four great grandchildren, Justin Martell, Jaelynn Kane, Jade Martell, and Jayla Kane.

Nora was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2016, Felipe Zayas.
