Norman Scott Jacobsen, 70, a resident of Fort Myers, FL for the past 35 years, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away suddenly Tuesday, December 24, 2019 in Fort Myers. He was born January 2, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY to Norman and Agnes Jacobsen, now deceased.
Norman was of the Protestant faith and was a veteran of the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War as an expert marksman. Family and friends knew him as Scotty. He had a good, caring heart and always looked out for everyone. He always kept us on our toes with his unique sense of humor.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Barbara Jacobsen of Fort Myers; two loving children, Michael Vaught (Lisa) of Cape Coral, and Jennifer Whitaker (Jerry) of Cape Coral; brother, Charles Kyle of Northport, NY; grandchildren, Stephen, Amber, Emily, and Nathan; great granddaughter, Guinevere; several nephews, Robert Kyle, Alex Kyle, Gary Kyle, David Kyle and Glen Kyle; as well as Rambo and Domino, the cats.
Norman was preceded in death by two siblings, Gloria Falch and Robert Kyle.
Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Mullins Memorial, 1056 NE 7th Terr., Cape Coral, FL 33909. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
