Pamela Ann MacDonald

Pamela Ann MacDonald, 74, a resident of Punta Gorda, FL since 1991, formerly of Sandusky, OH, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 in Port Charlotte, FL. She was born September 29, 1945 in Garden City, MI to John and Jean Jaqua, now deceased.

She is survived by six loving children: Linda Dahlstrom (Richard) of Cape Coral, FL, Mark Nusbaum (Tammy) of Port Charlotte, FL, Angellan (Tom) Herzig of Washougal, WA, Evanne Hardin (Douglas) of St Louis, MO, Lynd Loomis of Sandusky, OH, and John MacDonald  (Delia) and her brother, Doug Jaqua (Bev) of Collins, OH; 11 grandchildren: Emily Beasley, Jeremy Klawer, Andrew Burns, and Benjamin Burns (Chrystal Anderson), Amanda Rochlitz, Thomas Rhode Jr. (Cassandra), Cory Loomis (Shannon), Cliff Loomis, Gabrielle Loomis, Devon MacDonald (Alivia) and Jared MacDonald; as well as 17 great-grandchildren: Ainsley, Aislynn, Marina, Anthony, Vivian, Sierra, Heath, Brieana, Tyler, Carmen, Maggie, Erin, Axel, Cambria, Sebastian, Evelynne, and Lena; and one great-great grandson, Liam.

Pam was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert John MacDonald and Kenneth William Nusbaum.  While Mom and Bob were only together a few short years, Bob left us the wonderful legacy of family.  The entire MacDonald family has continued to embrace us, and we are extremely grateful.

Anyone who met Pam knew her to be a strong stoic woman, fiercely independent. She was the type of person you could always, ALWAYS count on. You might know Mom made fantastic pies and an award-winning potato salad and that she sewed our Halloween costumes well into adulthood.  She loved working for Ingman Marine as an Executive Assistant. She also worked as a bank teller and a wallpaper hanger.

You may not know that Pam was also a great fisherman, could shoot trap with the best of them, and used to drag race in her younger years, much to her mother’s surprise! Within the last month, she passed a handgun safety course with the goal of obtaining her concealed carry license. We would joke that Mom could do everything except plumbing, after a rather explosive attempt to fix our bathroom.

She spent almost 30 years missing Bob MacDonald and we take comfort in knowing they are finally reunited today.

A memorial celebration for mom’s life will be deferred until travel restrictions are lifted and our family can safely reunite.
